Meet the Amazing...

Hi, my name is Tayanna! I have been working with children professionally for five years, primarily as a babysitter. In addition to my professional experience, I spent many years caring for my younger sister while my parents worked, which gave me extensive hands-on childcare experience long before I began babysitting formally. I would describe my personality as caring, smart, funny, and—above all—creative.

I love working with kids because they are endlessly funny, open to learning, and full of fresh perspectives on life. I have cared for children across a wide range of ages, including working with infants and toddlers, as well as supporting elementary-aged children. I currently babysit consistently for two families and truly value building trust and long-term relationships with the families I work with.

In addition to babysitting, I was recently employed as an elementary school substitute teacher, where I worked with classrooms of up to 25 students at a time. In this role, I was responsible for following lesson plans left by teachers, supporting a general education 5th-grade classroom, maintaining structure, and creating a positive, respectful learning environment. This experience strengthened my ability to manage groups of children, communicate clearly, and stay calm, flexible, and organized.

I am an artist at heart, creating sculptures and designing clothing, and I also teach sewing and crochet workshops at the Explora Science Museum. When babysitting, I love incorporating my artistic skills to keep kids entertained and engaged. I often bring simple supplies so children can explore creativity and make their own artwork.

One thing you should know about me is that I love to travel. My adventures have taught me adaptability, patience, and curiosity—qualities I bring into my work with children every day. My strengths include patience, clear communication, reliability, and creativity.
