Meet the Amazing...
Rebecca C.
Hi, I’m Becca!
I’m here to help make your time in Aspen a little more magical. I’ve been caring for infants, children, and teens for 16 years, and I truly love what I do. Since beginning my childcare journey in 2009, I’ve worked in a wide variety of settings—from infant–toddler classrooms and preschool programs to being a camp counselor, an art teacher in Thailand, and a semester-school instructor in Chile.
I’m entering my ninth season as a Ski Instructor, where I primarily work with kids. You might spot me skiing through the trees, belting Into the Unknown with a group of enthusiastic local girlies in tow. Feel free to say hi… or sing along. After a day on the mountain, I often spend my evenings babysitting—a rhythm I’ve loved in every ski town I’ve called home. Before Aspen, I lived in Park City, Utah, where I cared for many families year after year—relationships I still cherish. I also nannied regularly during my year in New Zealand.
I hold Wilderness First Responder, CPR, and First Aid certifications, and I prioritize creating a safe, connected, and playful environment for every child. My caregiving approach is simple: be joyful, be kind, and lead with compassion. As children navigate who they are becoming, I aim to model emotional intelligence, consistency, and positive communication. Challenging moments become opportunities to learn, and my goal is always for kids to feel seen, supported, and safe.
I’m originally from Virginia, and I earned my B.S. in Elementary Education with a minor in Dance from Appalachian State University in North Carolina. After graduating, I embraced seasonal life as an outdoor educator and guide with a focus on whitewater and skiing—adventures that carried me from Alaska to Colorado, Washington, Utah, Idaho, New Zealand, and, most recently, Patagonia.
Beyond childcare, I bring a few passions that enhance my work as a sitter: culinary arts, fitness, and music. I spent two years working as a chef, including serving as head chef on an overnight boat in Milford Sound, New Zealand. My galley sat on the top deck, complete with dolphins, waterfalls, and endless inspiration. I’m plant-based, confident accommodating any dietary needs, and comfortable preparing meals for all ages. My outdoor background means I naturally encourage kids to play hard, explore, and enjoy movement. And if music is your child’s love language, I’m always happy to bring out my guitar or ukulele for lullabies, sing-alongs, or lessons.
When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me on the slopes or in the backcountry. I thrive in the outdoor community and cherish the slow, joy-filled cadence of river trips, backpacking, climbing days, and multi-sport adventures. I also love pottery, salsa dancing, and saying yes to whatever makes life feel vibrant and full.
I look forward to meeting you and your family!
