Meet the Amazing...

Morgan F.

Hi there! My name is Morgan, and I have worked in childcare in the Roaring Fork Valley since 2017. My experience started as an assistant martial arts instructor for four years, and then I became a lead instructor for the following three years. I taught after-school classes 2–4 days per week, along with many week-long summer camps throughout the summers.

I then transitioned to working with Handmakery in Carbondale, CO, where I spent a year teaching week-long summer camps and after-school art classes. I began working full-time at Blue Lake Preschool during the summer of 2024. There, I spent one summer as an assistant teacher and one as a lead teacher, taking classes of children ages 2–6 on a variety of field trips multiple days each week. Many of these outings were near or in the water, including pools and lakes.

I have also done many one-time and recurring babysitting jobs over the past nine years. Through my combined professional and private childcare experience, I have worked with children ranging from 6 months to 14 years old, with the majority of my experience being with children ages 2–12.
In the summer, I work as an EMT and wildland firefighter for the Carbondale Fire Department. During the school year, I attend Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO, where I am working toward a Bachelor of Arts in Adventure Education—a degree focused on education, leadership, and risk management in complex outdoor environments.

When I'm not working or studying, you can usually find me outside. I love rock climbing, skiing, mountain biking, hiking, swimming, rafting, playing ultimate frisbee, and camping. I make a big effort to travel, explore, and adventure as much as I can. One of my favorite feelings is being tired after a long day of working hard at something I enjoy and find meaningful. If I'm ever too tired to be out exploring, I'm probably reading, meal prepping, painting, drawing, making jewelry, or just hanging out and chatting with my best friend.

I look forward to meeting you and your family!
